Student Dies From Crash Injuries

For two days there were numerous prayers and well-wishes for a student involved in a serious multiple-vehicle crash on Wednesday near Alton High School. But on Friday night after two days of emergency treatment for extensive injuries 17-year-old Blake Hampton received in that accident his family made the decision to remove the youth from life support and the young man died.[Full Story]

Police have found the white vehicle they were looking for that was allegedly involved in a crash that resulted in an Alton High School student's hospitalization with critical injuries. The vehicle was located this morning on the Alton High School parking lot. The driver is a juvenile, and will not be identified at this time. [Full Story]

The state government furlough program that was supposed to save taxpayers $18 million won’t save nearly that much, but you wouldn’t know it by talking to Gov. Pat Quinn. The governor, in Champaign for a University of Illinois-related announcement, was asked about his new memo that allows non-union workers—the only ones required to take 24 furlough days—to take vacation or personal time as “furlough” days. Man Arrested For Allegedly Beating A Toddler

Police in Granite City say they have arrested a man on charges he allegedly beat a 15-month-old boy. 26 year old Keshawn Bush of St. Louis is accused of injuring his girlfriend's son. Officials called to the scene were told the child had been hurt accidentally, but they say his injuries indicated otherwise. [Full Story]

Student Critical as Police Investigate Crash  This News Story Contains Audio

Police continue to look into a Wednesday afternoon accident that critically injured a 17 year old Alton High Student. Blake Hampton remains in critical condition with a head injury after his truck ended up on its side at the entrance to Ted's Motorcycle World along Humbert Road. Two other vehicles were involved, but there were no additional injuries.[Full Story]
