Moro Boil Order In Place

A boil order has been issued for a portion of the River Bend. The Moro Water District has called for a boil order that goes into effect this morning and will go until further notice. Bill Ambrose, from the water district, says the order is in effect as a precaution due to maintenance work that will take place starting today.[Full Story]

The Lewis and Clark Confluence Tower in Hartford opened to the public on May 14, and has been busy ever since. The 150-foot tall structure located along Route 3 provides an overlook of the confluence of the Mississippi and Missouri Rivers. Any business that is required to be licensed by the county is subject to an inspection each year, and those results can be viewed on the health department web site. For the second consecutive year, U.S. News and World Report have cited Southern Illinois University Edwardsville as an “up and coming school”. SIUE was one of three universities in the Midwest listed for making "innovative changes" in the areas of faculty, student life, campus life and facilities. Bliefnick says this year’s fair included several highs and lows. Pat Quinn has signed the Illinois Safe Children Act, which allows investigators to use wiretaps on suspected sex traffickers. It also protects undercover officers by using officer-safety recordings. Pet Store Laws

Illinois pet stores and animal shelters will soon have to disclose health and breeding information for dogs and cats they sell. Currently, retailers have to give buyers that information upon request only. As of January 1st, the information must be posted on or near the animal's cage.[Full Story]
