The Illinois State Fair this year includes the National Work Zone Memorial, a wall of about 800 names of people – workers, drivers, and passengers, police – killed in work zones. [Full Story]

Police are hoping someone will provide information in the disappearance of a 48-year-old Alton woman. 48-year-old Bonnie Woodward has not been seen since June 25 after she was observed talking to a man outside the Eunice Smith Nursing Home, off College Avenue where she worked. Her family has offered a $5,000 reward for information on her whereabouts.[Full Story]

Suspect Charged in Deadly Police Chase

A man who turned himself into investigators in Maryland has been charged in connection to the high-speed chase that resulted in the death of Cowden Police Officer Jeremy Hubbard Tuesday night. The Effingham County State's Attorney says 31-year-old Andrew Davenport of St. Louis Missouri has been charged with aggravated fleeing a police officer. [Full Story]

A new report says the Illinois Department of Corrections neglected the possible impact on public safety when launching an accelerated early release program. The report was written by a former appellate judge and two aides to Gov. Pat Quinn. He asked them to review the "MGT Push" program after it was discovered that some offenders were serving little or no time.[Full Story]
