No Election Hacking Problems

Story by WBGZ Radio

With all of the talk of hackers possibly compromising the U.S. presidential election, the state’s elections board said Illinois’ elections weren’t impacted, even if there were a hack over the summer.  Illinois State Board of Elections General Counsel Ken Menzel said the summertime hack of voter databases only got accessed to some voter data.

It didn’t impact the individual elections commissions throughout the state.

November’s election was made official when the elections board certified to vote tallies Dec. 5 in Springfield. On Monday, Illinois’ electors for the Electoral College meet in Springfield to officially cast their votes, which will then be transported to the U.S. Senate, along with all of the other states’ electoral votes.
