ISP Offers Driving Reminder For Eclipse

Story by WBGZ Radio

The solar eclipse will happen in a little more than a week, and the Illinois State Police is getting ready. Up to 200,000 people may flock to southern Illinois for the astronomical event on Monday, August 21st, according to some estimates.

ISP Master Sergeant Matt Boerwinkle tells The Big Z they are working with state and local police to get ready.

Boerwinkle urges motorists to turn on their headlights during the eclipse, and not pull over to the side of the road to view the event. A partial eclipse will be visible across the entire state.
