L&C Offer New Instrumentation Program

Story by WBGZ Radio

Lewis and Clark Community College is offering a new program this fall semester in Instrumentation and Control Systems. Interested students can apply now, and students already attending LC are encouraged to enroll sooner than later. The class is an offshoot of the college's Process Operations Technology Program where students will learn skills in calibration, assembly, repair, and gain a familiarity with a large variety of electronics.

Coordinator for the Process Operations Technology Program at LC, Jim Witt, told the Big Z how the program got started, and how students can apply.

Witt's comments

The college claims that graduates of the two year program can make a starting yearly income of between $45,000 and $65,000. Program Coordinator Jim Witt also said that many local companies such as Phillips 66 at the Wood River Refinery, and others are in need of experts in this field in the day to day running of their systems.
