Four In Custody Following Armed Robbery

Story by WBGZ Radio

We're learning more about a pair of incidents in Alton Tuesday night. Police were first called to an armed robbery in the 3400 block of Oak Drive at 10:42pm. While officers were looking for the suspect vehicle in that incident, a vehicle was stolen from a home in the 1200 block of 5th Street.

That SUV was unoccupied and running when the thieves took it, and was spotted by an officer. The vehicle thieves took off across the bridge, but crashed near the US 67 and Highway 94 intersection in West Alton. No one was located at the crash site. A little later, the four suspects from the armed robbery were taken into custody by the Missouri Highway Patrol. Charged with Armed Robbery and Offenses Related to Motor Vehicle is 20-year-old Raheem R. Alston of St. Louis. Three juveniles taken into custody will be referred to the Madison County Juvenile Court system. No shots were fired in either incident.
