Chesterfield Homicide Victim Identified

The victim of a Chesterfield, Illinois homicide yesterday (Thursday) afternoon has been identified. The Macoupin County Sheriff's Department says 34-year-old Rachel Warren of the 400 block of North Main Street was killed at the residence. A suspect was caught after a brief pursuit and is awaiting charges.

The  Sheriff Department was contacted just after 2:30pm, and the 911 caller described the vehicle the suspect fled in. Macoupin County Sheriff Shawn Kahl tells The Big Z police spotted the vehicle, and gave chase.

Buck is being held on a no-bond warrant from the Texas Department of Corrections. All schools in the Southwestern School District went on a soft lockdown as the suspect led police on a chase through some of the district's area. Buck was taken into custody near the intersection of Kane and Rangeline Roads in Jersey County.
