Another Warrant Served at County Office

Story by WBGZ Radio

Another search warrant was served Monday at a Madison County Government Office. This time, police seized items from the office of the IT department, and is apparently a part of the ongoing investigation by the Madison County Public Corruption Task Force that began in January.

Members of the Madison County Sheriff's Department conducted the search but did not disclose what items were removed. According to the News Democrat, no other county official would comment about the search other than Madison County Board Chairman Kurt Prenzler who only confirmed the search at the IT department. Madison County State's Attorney Tom Gibbons says his office was not involved in the Monday investigation. A Circuit Judge heard an appeal from several county officials last Friday on possibly appointing an outside special prosecutor to lead the ongoing investigation.
