A dog that has been involved in a number of documented attacks will continue to be locked up at the Madison County Animal Control facility. A hearing that was scheduled for Monday was continued until a later date. The original hearing last month was also continued, as the lawyer representing the dog owner needed more time to prepare his case.
The pit bull most recently allegedly attacked a jogger on West Delmar Boulevard in Godfrey in May, dragging her to the ground and requiring about 120 stitches. Malorie Vest of Godfrey, a college age student, claims a pit bull bit her on the leg May 23 while she was jogging. The dog has been caged at the Madison County Animal Control facility in Edwardsville since shortly after the attack.
