A Staunton man is dead following a single vehicle, rollover crash earlier this morning in northern Madison County. 42 year old Thomas Gusewelle of the 900 block of Lakewood Drive was pronounced dead at the scene by the Madison County Coroner's Office on Renken Road, near Dustman Road which is about half way between Staunton and Highway 159.
The Madison County Sheriff's Department is investigating the crash. It appears Gusewelle, who was wearing a seatbelt, left the roadway as he was heading east on Renken Road, overturned and came to rest down an embankment. He was pronounced dead at the scene around 2:15am today of head and neck trauma. Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton is in charge of arrangements which are pending.
