The Cornerstone Church in Bethalto is installing a new Lead Pastor today. Rev. Erik Scottberg (pictured with family) was overwhelmingly elected as Lead Pastor by the congregation a little more than a month ago. Scottberg replaces Rev. Phil Schneider, who left the church after 22 years when elected to the position of Superintendent for the Illinois Assemblies of God.
Scottberg says he hopes to expand the church's involvement in the community.

The public is invited to the installation service at 10:10 a.m. today at the church. In his new role as Lead Pastor, Scottberg will lead the Cornerstone Network which includes campuses in Godfrey, Columbia, Calhoun and Shrewsbury, Missouri and deaf congregations in Godfrey and Belleville.
