St. Louis is preparing to say goodbye to Cardinals legend Stan Musial, who died last week at the age of 92. A private funeral is set for today at the Cathedral Basilica, followed by a procession to Busch Stadium, where Musial's family will lay a wreath at the foot of his statue.
The burial will be private for the family. Fans lined up in the cold Thursday outside the Cathedral Basilica during a six-hour public viewing. Lindell Boulevard will be closed between Taylor and Newstead at 8:00 a.m. until the service is over. He was a 24-time All-Star, three-time MVP and three-time World Series winner. Musial spent his entire 22-year career with the Cardinals. He retired after the 1963 season.
