Checking local police reports provided this morning to Z-1570, Wood River Police arrested a man who was allegedly seen carrying a gun on the parking lot of East Alton Wood River High School on Tuesday afternoon.  The man, identified only as a 23 year old, was taken into custody and found to be carrying an unloaded BB gun.  He will be facing charges for carrying the weapon on school property.  This morning, police in Wood River were holding 25 year old Joshua Jones of Wood River for Burglary.

Alton Police were investigating the report of an attempted home invasion from Sunday night in which the suspect allegedly fired a gunshot at the home.  A woman at the residence told police she was inside with her two children when a man came to the front door looking for her boyfriend, who she said was not there.  The man began kicking the door, and later broke out a front window in an attempt to gain entry as the woman called 911.   A neighbor says they heard a gunshot and police report finding one bullet lodged inside a living room wall.  No one was injured and the woman said she did not know the suspect.

The Madison County Sheriff's Department arrested 26 year old Stacy Edwards of the 2900 block of Sand Lot Road in Edwardsville for theft over $500.

Authorities also charged 24 year old Jacquelyn N. Longbottom of the 100 block of Niagara in East Alton with theft over $500 for allegedly stealing money from Casey's where she is employed.
