David Brian Molloy

JERSEYVILLE - David Brian Molloy, 60, died unexpectedly at 1:35 a.m., Saturday, February 10, 2018 at his residence in Madison, Illinois.
He was in Jerseyville on January 26, 1958, one of sixteen children born to Joseph J. and Delores (Zimmer) Molloy Sr.
David grew up in Jerseyville, and attended St. Francis Xavier Grade School. He always loved sports, and participated in football, wrestling and track at Jersey Community High School, where he graduated with the Class of 1976. He was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys, St. Louis Blues, St. Louis Cardinals, and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
His happy, friendly, and outgoing personality was well known by his family and friends, as well as to those he met throughout his career in insurance sales, and as a chairperson and counselor for various recovery groups.
Always smiling and telling a story, David loved life and encouraged others to see the best in others.
He married the former Devona Fayne on Feb. 29, 2012 at the Grace East Church in Pontoon Beach, and in their time together they have shared many happy moments and faced any challenge and hard times together, with the strength of their faith and trust in God and family.
Surviving are his wife, Devona Molloy of Madison; his six children, Brian Molloy of Brooklyn, New York, Carolyn Molloy of Chicago, Britney and Chris Opperman of Milwaukee, Wi., Austin Fayne and Kierra Fayne both of Kansas City, Mo., and Latoya and Thomas Midderhoff of Collinsville; 10 Grandchildren; six brothers and their spouses, Thomas and Joy Molloy of Jerseyville, Michael and Debra Molloy of Braidwood, James and Karen Molloy of Monticello, Daniel Molloy, and his partner, Kim White of Crystal City, Mo., Timothy and Tatyana Molloy of St. Louis, Mo., and Leo Molloy, and his partner, Joan Clarke of Dublin, Ireland; seven sisters and their spouses, Mary Kathleen Molloy, and her partner, Nick Zankl of Godfrey, Margaret "Peggy" and Phil Begole of Pana, Patricia and Greg Harris of Wood River, Maureen and Frank Stephens of Brighton, Tn., Teresa Molloy and her partner, Ted Burkman of Jerseyville, Janet and Randy Williams of Jerseyville, and Barbara and Keith Sawyer of Chapel Hill, NC; 27 nieces and nephews and 20 great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph J. Molloy Sr.; a son, Thomas Michael Fayne; two brothers, Cpl. Joseph J. Molloy Jr., who was killed in action in the Vietnam War and John P. Molloy; a niece, Heather Harris; and a nephew, Christopher Begole.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Jerseyville, with Father Marty Smith officiating.

A Memorial service to honor Dave's life will also be celebrated on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the Grace Church East in Pontoon Beach, with a opportunity for condolences from 10 a.m., until time of services.
Rest in Peace. You will be missed.
