William N. Bock Sr., 86, died at 10:52 a.m., Friday, June 22, 2012 at his residence. He was born September 15, 1925 in Alton the son of Henry and Anita (Atkins) Bock. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was a member of North Alton Southern Baptist Church. He retired in 1985 as a Plummer from Olin Corporation. On April 5, 1947 in Alton he married Katherine Giles and she survives.

Also surviving are one son; William N. Bock Jr. of Alton and two step-sons; Jim Vucich of Godfrey and Gary Vucich of Godfrey, four grandchildren; Doug Vucich and his wife Trish, David Vucich, Allison Kane and her husband Pat and Rachel Tornetto and her husband Matt, four great grandchildren; Peyton Vucich, Ross Vucich, Cooper Kane and Taylor Tornetto, one brother; Glenn Bock, four sisters; Betty Fitzgibbons of Jerseyville, Alice Dunham of Godfrey, Joanne Hall of Brighton and Peggy Hart of Carlinville.

He was preceded in death by one daughter; Barbara Spooner, two brothers; Lamarr and Charles Bock and one sister; Henrietta Heitzman. Visitation will be Monday, June 25 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Gent Funeral Home in Alton, where funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday with Reverend Sonny Renken to officiate.

Burial will be at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.
