Jackie “Jack” L. Ivey, passed away at 2:45pm, Thursday, July 5, 2012 at Christian North East Hospital, in St. Louis, MO.
He was born on August 4, 1940 in Litchfield, IL the son of the late William and Mary M (Whittenberg) Ivey.
He was employed with Alter Barge Line as a Tow Boat Engineer. He enjoyed collecting knifes and traveling to Branson every year for 16 years, he was also a member of the Alton Eagles.
Jack married Ruby Rose on May 18, 1968 in Rosewood Heights. She survives.
He is survived by his wife and two children; Cheryl Dorris and Rodney Ivey, three grandchildren; Caity Dorris, Dusty Dorris, and Luke Dorris, two sisters; Frances Markalacis of Litchfield, Il, Mary Young of Litchfield, Il, and one brother William and his spouse Cathy Ivey Jr, of Gillespie.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm, Monday July 9, 2012 at the Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton.
Funeral service will be at 10 am, Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at Elias, Kallal, and Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens in Bethalto, IL.
