The St. Louis Cardinals rallied to beat the Kansas City Royals 10-7 yesterday at Busch Stadium. After blowing a 6-1 lead, Yadier Molina hit a 2-run single in the bottom of the 7th to put the Cards back on top for good. Molina finished the game 2 for 4, with a home run and 4 RBI. Matt Holliday also had a great day at the plate, going 4 for 5 with a home run and 5 RBI.
Mitchell Boggs worked an inning and a third of scoreless ball to earn his first victory of the season, while Jason Motte pitched a perfect ninth for his 14th save. Rookie Joe Kelly, who was making his 2nd big league start, took a no decision after allowing 3 runs on seven hits in 4 and a third innings.
The Cards and Royals wrap up their series this afternoon. Adam Wainwright gets the call for St. Louis. Kansas City will counter with Luis Mendoza. First pitch is slated for 1:15 this afternoon.
