Adam Wainwright (pictured) left the mound with a smile following the seventh inning. Wainwright (10-10), coming off a complete game against Milwaukee, held the Giants to one run on five hits and struck out seven in seven innings, as the Cardinals beat the Giants 3-1 to split a four-game series at two wins apiece. The 30- year-old, who missed all of 2011 following Tommy John surgery, is now 3-1 in his last five starts with a 1.75 earned run average and has lowered his ERA below four for the first time since April 7. Mitchell Boggs tossed a perfect eighth and Jason Motte worked around a two-out walk to earn his 25th save of the season.
