Yadier Molina went 3-for-4 with an RBI and Shane Robinson also knocked in a pair as the St. Louis Cardinals edged the Pittsburgh Pirates 5-4 Saturday afternoon. It was Molina's first game back in the line up, after missing the previous three contests with back pain and it was his 2-run double in the 5th inning that proved to be the difference. Barret Browning picked up the win in relief of Lance Lynn who surrendered 3 runs in just 4 and one-third innings of work. Jason Motte also tallied his 28th save of the season in the win.
The win moves the Cardinals within a game of Pittsburgh in the race for the second wild card spot in the National League. The two teams will play the rubbermatch of their three game set this afternoon. Jaime Garcia will be on the mound for the Cards while the Pirates counter with Jeff Karstens. First pitch at Busch is set for 1:15 p.m.
