The Cardinals have locked up closer Jason Motte for the next two seasons. The team has signed the 30-year old righthander to a two-year deal worth a reported $12-million. The new deal would cover Motte’s remaining two years of arbitration eligibility. Motte tied for the National League lead with 42 saves last season while posting a 2.75 ERA in 67 games.
