The Ravens defeated the 49ers, 34-31 in Super Bowl 47 at the Superdome in New Orleans Sunday night. Baltimore quarterback Joe Flacco tossed for 287 yards and three first half touchdowns and was named the game’s MVP.
The Ravens led 21-6 at halftime and then 28-6 prior to a power outage early in the third quarter.
This is Baltimore’s second Super Bowl championship, with their first coming at Super Bowl 35 in 2001. They beat the N.Y. Giants, 34-7 in Super Bowl 35 in Tampa, Florida.
It’s the Niners first-ever Super Bowl loss – they’re now 5-and-1 in Super Bowl games.
